My Story
Hello, my name is Danielle Talbert. I completed my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University Columbus in August 2025.
So often, individuals are taught that asking for help is a sign of weakness but this is a lie. Admitting that you are struggling with your mental health takes courage. I feel honored to be a part of my clients' journeys in healing and growth. I believe that coming alongside my clients in a team approach is important in healing. Clients have unique needs but I believe most people truly want to feel validated and accepted.
I see clients with a variety of struggles, including issues with poor self-esteem, anxiety, depression, ADHD, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder, and more. I have a passion for working alongside clients ages 10 and up that have experienced sexual abuse or other forms of trauma.
The therapeutic approaches I incorporate into sessions are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and components of the Polyvagal Theory. Clients of all ages can also benefit from play and art therapy interventions in our sessions. So often, adult survivors of childhood abuse did not have the opportunity to be a child. After attending a play therapy conference, I found that play therapy can be helpful for clients of all ages that have experienced attachment wounds and trauma.
